I have the muzzy tag this year, and I've not been disappointed with what I've seen. Then again, maybe my expectations weren't that high to begin with.

I went shooting the other day with new powder (Pyrodex) and new bullets (Barnes T-MZ). After three shots I tried to unscrew the breech plug, which I've never had to labor to get off, and it wouldn't come off. I went home and used tools to get the plug out. Now I see the plug is deformed and...

That's completely understandable. I'll not be seeking a 200 yard shot, but would like to be prepared if that's my only chance. Like you, I hope to have a MUCH closer shot than that.

I'm planning on using my CVA Wolf this year for elk too. At this point i'm just so indecisive on what bullet to use. I read all about expansion, ballistics, etc. and every manufacturer claims their bullet works the best. I'll need to try a few out. I'll want to be ready to take a 200 yard shot...

What combo of powder (grains), bullet, and rifle did you use to take your elk? How far away was he/she?

I got the Element jacket from Camofire, and the external chest pocket hasn't worked from day 1. It won't unzip.
