I have the muzzy tag this year, and I've not been disappointed with what I've seen. Then again, maybe my expectations weren't that high to begin with.

Agreed. I've never run into one, and hope I never do. The idea that these dudes will not hesitate to protect the operation is scary. Protecting millions of dollars in crop is much more valuable to them than a hunter/hiker's life. Wonder if they'll ever bust an operation in the hills and...

Google Earth is compatible with essentially any Garmin GPS that you'd get at the store now days. I have the eTrex Legend HCx and it does just fine either way. I can download waypoints, etc. from Google Earth to the device, and also upload my GPS waypoints to Google Earth rather easily.

Hahaha. This post is like the "Maury" of the elk forum. Pretty funny. I think post 26 gave a good example and brief explanation of point creep in Utah. The same amount of people are not going to put in for the same tag every year, and the tag numbers are not going to be the same every year...

Odds show 17 points would have gotten you a San Juan early rifle tag last year. To answer your question, if I had 17 points, I woulnd't be putting in for archery, and I would probably do the San Juan early rifle. Either that or a premium tag for Wasatch.

100 grains of 777 powder pushing a 245 grain aerotip powerbelt with a CCI 209 primer. I just bought the 777 50 grain pellets, but I'll take any suggestions...

I don't pretend to know everything about every unit, but if you want to hunt with a rifle I would be applying for a Wasatch or Manti tag. Draw odds say both of these took 14 pts last year. Just my oppinion.

I shot my Wolf for the first time the other day. I wasn't quite as accurate as that, but I love the way it shoots. I'm trying the open sights since I can only use a 1x scope in Utah. I might be looking into a 1x scope soon though.

I'd probably be doing the Wasatch muzzy this fall. The odds show San Juan archery takes 14 points, but I would be considering that too. For me though, putting in for an archery hunt with that many points depends a lot on how confident I am with my shot/equipment.

I just bought a box of Triple 7 powder in the 50 grain pellets. The pamphlet says that the maximum load is 100 grains, yet I constantly see people say that they use over 100 grains of Triple 7 powder in their loads. I posted this same thing in another thread, but no response... Can anyone...
