Lately every time I try and use Google Earth It won't open and I get a pop up message that reads..

"The procedure entry point decoderPointer could not be located in the dynamic library KERNEL32.dll."

I have tried several times to remove and reinstall Google Earth and still have the same problem.. I have even restored my PC back to an earlier date when I know that I had used Google Earth without problem..

FWIW I am running Windows XP version 2002 (I believe that's how old my PC is..lol)

Sorry I can't help. I had a girl friend once tell me the attempted procedure of my entry point decoder pointer was wrong.

BS, terrible! Every time I get a message like that I just ignore that application. If you can't get Google Earth to work......oh well.

I'm down to two things I can do, MM and email.

I'm happy with that.

If they don't want me, I don't want them.

Never let them see you sweat. Be the master of your own destiny.

I lived 60+ years without Google Earth. F### 'em!

Hope this helps.

LAST EDITED ON Jan-12-12 AT 04:44PM (MST)[p]What service pack are you running? Go to the help menu in Internet explorer and choose About Internet Explorer. You will get a popup screen. If there is a "system info" button choose it. You will get a System Information box. The first two lines in the right hand column will say OS - Windows XP and Version - Service Pack ???.

If there isn't that System Info button it should say right on the first popup Windows XP SP??? and the number you are on.

Problem #1 = Running Internet Explorer!

Jeezuz snort. IE 6?

Anyway, go to "My Computer" and do the same thing. Should show the info.

Bess, you really have no room to talk about computers and how much better you think Firefox is. You been through more computers than anyone I know.

So. Did a little research on your problem Shnort. Suspect you have a computer Worm. Next time wash your hands before you pound the key board.

Not real familiar with XP, but try going to the Start Menu, choosing "All Programs", and click on "Windows Update". Have it search for updates, install any/all updates. It might take a while.

After you install updates, remove Google Earth from your computer through the "Uninstall a Program" option in the Control Panel and reinstall the latest version.

LOL..Good stuff guys...

Hardway, I do have pics of the bear on my PC, maybe that wasn't a good idea...lol
