    8x42 vs 10x42

just got my 10x43 Zen ED4. very nice finish for the new ED/HD binoculars. For western hunting, I found 8x is tag too weak. 10x is perfect without resorting to the monster 15x binoculars. http://www.zen-ray.com/shop/binoculars/zened4/zened4-10x43.html They have a code: HEART-ED4 for $150 off

    Kowa spotters

I got some awesome deal from Doug at Cameraland NY for some Zen-Ray ED2 spotting scope. It is 20-60x82. should check them out.

    Opinons - Nikon EDG 1 - 8X42

Nikon EDG 1 8x42 has serious flaw with its integrated diopter design. I would pass that opportunity no matter how sweet the deal is. The only company that does this right is Swarovski.

    spotting scope under 1000.00

LAST EDITED ON Feb-17-15 AT 07:00PM (MST)[p]ZEN ED2 is the scope I got... I actually compared it to Swarovski and Razor. It is closer to Swaro than Razor for sure. The deal on Doug's site is hard to beat

    Spotter Suggestions

I agreed that Swaro spotter is good candidate. I have been waiting for 65mm ED2 spotter from Zen-Ray for years. When that eventually comes, I will grab it right away

zenray spotters and binos any good?

check out their PRIME HD binoculars. It gives edge to edge sharpness which is only available from Swaro SV or Zeiss SF binoculars. Their offering is very similar to Vortex, except the price is about 40% less expensive.

Vortex Razors or used Swarovski, Lieca, Ziess??

the new Leupold BX4 McKinley is quite amazing. I am surprised it has not been mentioned here yet. Definitely well clearer and brighter than Razor. The optics performance is more like Swarovski level.

Looking to buy new Spotting Scope

I have a set of Zen-Ray ED2 20-60x82mm. After a lot of back and forth comparison between this and Vortex Razor HD, I found ED2 much brighter and sharper.

    vortex razor 20x60

Razor is not known for its low light performance. I bought a set a couple of years ago. The resolution is outstanding. But the brightness under low light forced me to send it back the shop. The blue color seems to indicate the coating is not applied uniformly across all light spectrum. You...

    8x vs 10x

When I bought my ZEN ED, I compared it to Viper and found ZEN was actually tad sharper and brighter and decided to keep my ZEN ED. You may want to look into Zen-Ray PRIME HD for $519 (they have a $50 coupon on their website). For western hunting, I always stick to 10x...

    Need New Long Range Binos

This is a solid advice. You don't need higher power binoculars to see better. Higher power does not have higher resolution than 8x or 10x binoculars. Try to invest on a pair of quality 8x42 or 10x42, which will be more useful than a 15x binoculars. I went through the same learning curve and was...

    10 x 42 Razors or SLC

well said. The SLC has better edge sharpness than the other binoculars. It may not be important to everyone. But it certainly is to me. When I scout the area, I want to have a good peripheral vision in my binoculars FOV. SLC gets the job done right. To get the image quality like SLC without...

    Vortex Kaibab HD 20x56 ???

field of view will be horrible. Don't do it. It has very little practical use in the field

    Best glass for $800

I have a pair of Zen-Ray PRIME HD 10x42 for $650. It looks like there are some demo deal out there for less. I was debating between this and Vortex Razor.

    Monarch 3,5,&7 binos

Monarch 7 has very good resolution and brightness. The only issue is the chromatic aberration control needs more work. The Vortex Razor and Zen-Ray ED3 are better in that department.
