you may want to come for the Wild Sheep Foundation meeting next week instead. The Grand Slam/Ovis takes about 20 minutes to see everything. The WSF has a lot more to see and do and is only $15.

Also, don't forget to pack a paperback book. You will most likely get stuck in your tent for a day or 5 due to weather. At the beginning of August 2011 I was snowed in for 4 days. Since there is no wood to start a fire you are confined to the tent. A good book sure helps pass the time.

One thing to keep in mind for a late Aug early Sept NWT hunt is you will get rained on. Make sure your gear can keep you warm and safe even if it rains and snows the whole time. For a pack I like my Kifaru Bikini frame and DT1 bag. It can carry all the gear you will need and still have room...

For the meat pushing through and jamming into my back I guess that could happen but I haven't experienced it. I packed out a couple mule deer this year with this pack and I don't remember ever having any discomfort from the load pushing into my back. I picked that setup for the best weight...

I am running the Bikini with the DT1 frame. I got that set up so I can pack out anything I want and still have a pack that compresses down for a nice day pack. The bikini frame is very comfortable while loaded heavy. It does carry the heavy weight better than my Kuiu icon 6000. I don't notice...

I have hunted with them. They run a first class operation. You will get a sheep no problem. They are pulling out some huge sheep right now. I saw a lot of nice caribou while I was there but got snowed out before I could connect. Great operation and great guys.
