How is this going to affect the deer hunting in this unit? I have a 82 3rd rifle deer tag and i was planning on hunting in this exact area. Do you think they will open the area up by november? Is all of the activity going to push a lot of the game out of the area?

We are going to unit 82 for 3rd rifle deer. We traditionally backpack hunt but we are planning on more of a moving base camp and spiking out. From what i have seen on other threads most are elk hunting in the southern half of the unit but i could be wrong. Like everyone we are hoping for snow...

you are correct and i forgot to list that. I am leaning toward 40 but a little worried about the population of elk there compared to 41.
