    Mule Deer Proposal

I love how government agencies take your money, and then feel the need to to change the rules to regulate every aspect of our lives. Has it occurred to anyone that the vast majority of those Lifetime License holders are 60+yrs old. How many 60yr old's are getting after it in Utah's mountains...

    Kent Kaiser Alaskan Quest

I spoke to him earlier this yr about a DYI float moose hunt. He was in Hawaii getting ready to go on his morning beach walk. He answered all my questions effortlessly. I got the impression that he is wealthy already and really "that good", or he doesn't really care anymore. The trips he...

    Leupold rangefinder

For sale Leupold TBR 1300. Very nice little unit, that doesn't feel like a 2x4 in your hand. Gives accurate distances quickly. Much faster than others I have owned. $220 tyd

    What would you do ???

split up the adventures. You try with a muzzleloader, and she tries for a rifle tag. You'll likely not get drawn the same yr. You'll know the unit better the second tag, and both be able to spend two seasons looking for a big buck.

Nice Utah buck from the '60s

why is it that Kansas City Cabela's has a bunch of Monster mule deer bucks? None of them came from that country. But it's an impressive display of the good ole days

    Matthews Lift

I shot 3 Bowtech bows wanting to pick one up, because they are so tunable. Then I shot the Lift. It was so quiet and dead in the hand, it was a no brainer for me. I also like how everything is so close to the riser on all sides. It will make for a balanced bow. You could say it could be too...

    Elk Archery Equipment Question

never going to turn a guy away from getting a new setup, but you can get it done with what you have. I have a friend who has killed a 320" and 370" bull last 2 yrs with a 50lb draw, 425gr total arrow weight, and Iron Wills up front. That being said, The bow technology keeps getting better. But...

Non Res tags, how does it all work ???

Talked to a guy that flew in from Cali to buy tags. Said atleast 25 others were on his flight doing the same thing. 38K people had to purchase a $185 license for a chance at getting a tag. That's good revenue for Idaho... The pioneer zone archery elk sold out in 21 minutes...

Sig Cross or Aero Precision Rifle?

I have the Cross and have nothing but good to say about it. I personally believe it is a poor man's target rifle. Get a lot of value for the money. It weighs less that the Q, and is less money. Not a fan of the trigger, but for $250 you can put a nice trigger in it. Still paying less than...

    I'm Stumped?

One thing that I have found very helpful, is using a white posterboard pinned to my target. I make a penny sized "Dot" to shoot at with a sharpie. Then I go back to 35yrds. The white background allows me to see any arrow kick much easier. I'm a fan of paper tuning, but you kill bulls with...

    .257 weatherby mag w/ brake

I have shot a 257wby for 20yrs. Great gun for deer, but you are limited to 120gr bullets. If you are looking for long distance shooting fast and flat, shoot a 7mm with 150gr bullets. Put a suppressor on, and it will have less recoil than the 25wby. Plus you will have increased the bullet...

    More educated bowhunters

TAC is fun to get out with friends, and you get to feel the pressure every shot. Shooting up/down hill and judging distance is invaluable. I agree that TAC attracts more of the really committed archers. It helps me judge my preparation. I shoot my hunting arrows, so that I can work out...

    More educated bowhunters

100% agree with the string material improvements make a huge difference. You get your bow tuned and 2 weeks later the d loop is 1/4" lower and your arrows are flying everywhere. 95% of archers couldn't tie in a new D loop 10yrs ago. YouTube has been a great education tool for those who are...

    More educated bowhunters

Looking back at my years of bow hunting. It's become pretty clear from what I know now, that it was a small miracle that anything died from my arrow. Had I known then, what I know now, I can think of a couple really nice bulls would have been dead. But I am still glad I didn't pull the...
