    unit 48 antelope

My father and I both drew 48-1 this year (seven points) I am looking for advice on where to camp and access the unit as a whole. If you want to provide some hunting tips I am all ears. We will be going up this weekend to do some recon. We also drew permission slips on the Circle Q/Hanna draw...

    8.5x42 swarovski EL binos

LAST EDITED ON Jul-13-18 AT 03:03PM (MST)[p]Pretty much. But. In my experience you will always wish they were 10x42'S For that amount of cash you could buy a new SLC 10x42 which many like myself prefer over the EL Swarovisions. The Current SLC 10x42 is my preferred glass. I also have a...

    New CVA Accura V2 Stainless

Same gun here I shoot two triple 7 magnum pellets (120g equ., red box) with either the Hornady 250 SST or Barnes 250 TMZ. Sub moa average at 100 and 200 yards. Have shot 1/2 moa groups several times. Tried the blackhorn (with the blackhorn breech plug) but did not get good accuracy at 110-120...

    800-1000 yard shots?

Ok, at whatever distance your bullet starts approaching 3/4 or more of a second in TOF you are taking a risk of wounding and not recovering an animal. Take that shot across a canyon that takes you an hour or more to get to the spot the animal was at and you are past the point of being ethical...

    Vortex Razor new release

The new scopes look like the same scope as the Maven and previous Brunton Icon series.

    800-1000 yard shots?

Here is my opinion. Taking shots past 600 yards is simply not ethical. You can buy the best gear on the planet and be the best most practiced trigger puller in the world but there is still one variable you will not have control over and that is the time of flight of the projectile in the air.

Updated my CVA w/ a Nikon Inline 3x9 bdc scope

Try the hornady 250 grain SST sabot with a charge of blackhorn or two of the triple 7 magnum pellets (red box) in that optima.

    Muzzleloader scope

LAST EDITED ON Jul-24-16 AT 10:43PM (MST)[p]Leupold and Nikon both have scopes with reticles made for a inline muzzy with 50cal 250 grain sabots at 2000 fps. Both are made to get you to 300 yards Leupold is the ultimate slam. Nikons is the inline.

CVA Accura V2 M.L. Rifle? Any Opinions Out There?

LAST EDITED ON Jul-23-16 AT 03:59PM (MST)[p]Awesome is all I can say about mine. Very accurate, light, easy to clean and very comfortable to shoot.Great trigger and recoil pad right out of the box. Mine likes Honady SST and Barnes TMZ sabots. With the recent mounting of a 3x9 scope mine is...

    Swarovski 10x42el or 10x42 slc ??

LAST EDITED ON Apr-24-16 AT 04:11PM (MST)[p]The current SLC is all you could need or ask for in a 10x42. Its actually a slightly brighter glass than the EL Swarovision but the Swarovision is slightly better than the SLC in other aspects. Get the SLC and use the extra coin for other toys. Be...

    Insole advice for new Meindls

I put Superfeet Green insoles in my Meindl boots. They add cushion but do not compromise stability and last as long as the boots.

    Bino Questions

Why do you think you will need to pay for repairs with the Swarovski's? They treat their customers great. Take care of them and you will be fine. The Swarovski is built much better. You should not let possible repair costs guide you decision. Problem with the vortex is that you have a much...

    Ballistics

Major difference. You have to set the power where you are told. Your scope is a 2nd focal plane so as you turn up the magnification the image increases in size but the size of the reticle stays the same. The distance represented between the center crosshair and the ones below it changes with...
