    Rangefinders

I just upgraded to the Sig Sauer Kilo2000. This is an awesome unit. I have been able to range trees/bushes at 1700 yards. Buildings up to 2800 yards. This unit will also range based on the angle or Line of Sight. I looked into the Bushnell ARC and the Sig out performs them hands down.

    Central Uintas Goats

Thanks elkassassin. You aren't just a kidding about the access on the south slope. The trail we rode in on is rugged to say the least. There are several places where our horses were climbing or descending a slope on slabs of stone. Not for the faint of heart. My buddy and I chose this area due...

    Central Uintas Goats

Anyone hunted this unit for goats. I just returned from a trip on the south and only saw a handful of goats with a couple billies. I had been told to expect to see a lot of goats, but was disappointed when I did not. My group rode eleven miles back in near Mt. Emmons. I know there are a lot of...

    Central Uintas Goat Tag

Has anyone hunted this unit for goats. My nephew hunts elk on the side end of the unit and sees a lot of goats. I also have a co-worker who hunted the north end of the unit with good success. Just looking for additional areas to scout. We are going in on horse back and have two tags in our group.

Well, which scope should I get?

I love my CVA Accura Mountain Rifle with the Konus 3x9 scope. I shoot Blackhorn 209 powder and Barnes Spitfire T-EZ bullets. I am getting great range and accuracy. The scope has an illuminated mil dot in the center of the cross hair, plus drop compensation lines out to 275 if zeroed at 100 yards.

    They dropping yet?

I was out hunting coyotes this past weekend and saw multiple people out shed hunting. Problem is every buck I saw was still packing both antlers. Didn't see any with recently lost antler wounds.

    Late Season Pavhant elk

LAST EDITED ON Dec-21-14 AT 04:58PM (MST)[p]So either no one killed any bulls on the Pavhant late hunt this year or they just aren't posting anything about it. Not sure which is the case.

    Late Season Pavhant elk

Where are all the late season bulls from this unit. I haven't seen any pictures posted. I received a picture of a bull that was killed this year during the late hunt. Not sure of the details of this bull or who it was that harvested it.

    Pahvant deer in bad shape

Nice bucks "muley". Those types of bucks used to be common on the Pahvant when I was younger. Zigger is correct about the predators. I spent several weeks on the unit from August through October scouting, and hunting deer and elk. I saw coyotes daily and three lions throughout. The DNR flew a...

    Pahvant deer in bad shape

The units winter range has been severely restricted by the the wildlife fence along I-15. The deer used to migrate across the interstate prior to it becoming so busy. They need some wildlife tunnels under the interstate. Place on top of that the severe drought the area has suffered through for...

BH 209 & 250 grain Thor is a Winning combination.

My 70 year old dad just finished up his muzzy elk hunt and killed a bull at 200 yards. I spent hours working up a good shooting load for his CVA Accura Mountain Rifle with lower recoil. This gun shot really well using 80 grains of Blackhorn 209 with a .290 grain Barnes T-EZ and a Winchester 209...

    Pahvant deer in bad shape

LAST EDITED ON Aug-27-14 AT 06:44AM (MST)[p]PSC post a picture of your bull from 2012. My dad has the muzzy elk tag this year. He's up there in age so our opportunities are limited but we expect to have a good hunt. In regards to the deer, the unit is definitely not what it has been. I caught...
