The past two years we've headed down to Arizona to hunt Javelina and break up the cabin fever...

This year was a little tougher to find pigs than last year, but we managed to find a few on day 5... Day 5 was extremely windy with light/very light snow, we glassed up what I thought was 9 pigs at about 1500 yds...

The stalk was on, about an 1hr later we were within 180yds... We set up and let Ms. Mutley take the first shot and she dumped him... Next was Mr. Mutley and he let the air out of his at about 160 yds... and I was next at about the same yardage... It got a little western after the first shot, there ended up being about 20 pigs on the hillside...

All in all a great time, except for needing 4 new tires, but that's a different story...

That is pretty cool. I need to shoot one, I want to full body 1 and put it on the same base as my Utah Desert sheep.

Wow! Share the tire story. I think we have all been there a time or two...hell a tire story thread would be a good one...

Very nice. Javelina hunting was always fun with the bows in January to get out of the cold. Did it 3 or four times. Need to try to get back there.

Tire story please!!!

The tire story isn’t all that neat unless you were there, I should have not mentioned it...

But here it goes, I drive 70 miles one way to get a tire fixed and as I pull into town my front right went out... Now I have to call a mobile tire guy to rescue me...

Well cords on both the tires are punctured to bad for repair... Now I have to get new tires...

Meanwhile back at camp MR. & Ms. Mutley have little to no reception and they thought I was only going twenty miles to get a tire fixed...
Now back to me, the guy puts a patch on so I can limp on down the road to Walmart to get new shoes...
The guy at walhelping says “I have to check your door panel for tire size” I said my tires have the size right on the sidewall... Then he says “company policy says I have to match the door panel size”
Wouldn’t ya know it, they didn’t have my size in stock but could get them the next day... ?

Now I’m thinking I have to get a hotel room for the night... I said is there any tire store here in town that’s open today besides Walmart, he said yes 10 miles heading out of town... He gave me there address and I limp on down the road again to the next tire place... I was in luck, they had one set of tires one size larger... I said sold out them on, now 140 miles and about 7 hours later I was back at camp... ?

Damn. This last fall I had two Alaskan moose in back of my truck and got a flat. The jack with the new truck would work with the weight so we had to unload the moose. Jack up the truck, change the tire and reload the moose. Got to the next town and got the bad tire fixed. Almost home blew out different tire. Put on the spare tire and gambled the last 30 miles with no spare.

hunting is expensive.

LOL Tikka!

You Ever Tried Pulling A Trailer that Doesn't have a Hitch on it?

Nevermind...................!
lol, the local Discount Tire where I live knows me by truck and name... If there’s one thing I’m good at, it’s getting flat tires!!!

It definitely got a little western....I only saw a handful until that first shot, then the mountain came alive!!!! Some great times for sure. Summer sausage turned out great, hopefully there is some left by the time I make it over:) Can't wait to get back
