12 deer points in WY, what area to apply in?

I am currently sitting on 12 deer points in WY. Yes, I know the herd quality is down... but for my own reasons, I want to hunt this year. Any advice on where to apply? Here are my requirements:

Nothing in Grizzly country
No mountains, looking for an open country hunt
I would prefer to be in the central or eastern part of the state
No outfitters, looking for a public land hunt
My goal is a decent opportunity at a muley at least 170 inches.
No interest in sharing my points

I have done some preliminary research, just looking to see if any others with similar point totals have hunted recently and their advice. Thanks for your input.

Sounds like you may not have any experience with Wyoming deer units. That is a tough scenario when considering your requirements.

This may not be popular with the Wyoming dudes, but I would seriously consider sharing your points and go with Founder to Region G - I can almost guarantee your chance at a 170 buck are higher in that scenario than hunting most any other unit in the state (especially with no first hand experience).

Get a general tag, not G or H as they have mtns, spend some time in early fall in some bars within general area, find a big girl and ask her if her relatives have a huge ranch with big deer. Thing is, either way you have climb a mountain. ??
You have a couple options look on the hunt finder, your behind max so limited in what is worth 12 points. No mountains and mule deer however is reallyyyy limiting.

How much time do you have to scout and how much experience do you have finding mature deer in the flat land units with pressure?

Let me put it a different way. You're gonna make your own opportunity most draw units have a 170 buck in them on public somewhere. Odds are greatly against you just showing up with little experience in an area you've never been and find a buck like that in any of these areas. Like jm77 said 150 would be pretty realistic if that's your plan though

Although not on your long list, your chance for a 170 buck would increase dramatically if you are open to hunting private land with a guide in central or eastern Wyo. As mentioned, your work will be cut out for you unless you are willing to spend lots of hours scouting and boot leather on public land in that area. There aren't a whole lot of limited tag options in eastern or central Wyo that don't have a gob of public tags issued that you can draw with your pts?

89 and 34 are your only options I guess based on your requirements, but you could easily not find what you are looking for.
