Just drew a tag for LE Early Wasatch Elk, took 16 points. This will be my one and only chance to hunt for a decent bull in UT as I won’t have a chance to draw again for an LE hunt. Looking for a decent 340+ bull if possible, but not sure where to look and focus scouting efforts- any insight or help would be appreciated.

It will be nice not to have as many people on the early rifle elk hunt this year. I've only been hunting deer up there for a few years during archery season, but I've never seen a 340 bull on the Wasatch alive. I did see one that big come off there last year during the rifle season. I encountered several 280-300 inch bulls during muzzleloader season last September. It's like they come out of nowhere when the rut kicks up.

340 is about top end. Yes there are bigger. But plan on a fun hunt, and don't worry about inches. You'll have fun.

Here are a set of sheds from the Wasatch. One would score 350, and the other 335, depending on spread credit.

Have a fun hunt!!!
