It's time to derail some of these other threads with all the R vs NR and such and have a post them up like they do on some other forums

So how has wyoming treated you with the big 5?

Moose, goat, sheep, bison and griz? Post them up. I suggest you not post a griz unless it was sold defense and your name had been cleared.

I will start it off.

1st is 2011 Billy. 2nd is 2021 Ram. 3rd is not mine but my dads moose from 2001. I was a young man to be with my dad when he got his moose, it's where I learned to deal with grizzly bears pretty quick and a adventure i will never forget. With 23 points for moose, only got 6 to 8 years before I can draw.

Love it! This thread is going to be awesome! I am a NR with none of the big 5 so I can’t contribute but I will say this: Wy has treated my family very well and I love hunting up there. What a beautiful place!

In 2014 I was very fortunate, I drew a random moose tag in the Wind River Mountains! After looking over quite a few bulls I decided this was the bull I wanted.

In 2020 I was very fortunate in the draw again. I drew a Bison tag! I hunted a lot of days on the forest but ended up taking this bull on the national elk refuge.

Thank you, to everyone who helped me on these hunts.

I'm a NR and decided 20+ years ago that the odds vs cost of drawing a M/G/S/B wasn't worth it, so have never had a tag. Our family has had some great D/E/A hunts though. But looking forward to seeing some of these great animals posted.

Wyoming has treated me more than fair. Started applying in 1999 for sheep and moose.

I waited for my Dad to draw a NR tag for moose first, and he finally caught up to point creep in 2012:

While waiting for him to draw, I continued to go for long shot moose areas since I didn't have max points. At the time I was regretting not drawing when I could have 3-4 years before. My goal was to draw ASAP then start applying again. Felt I left time and points on the table when I drew in 2015, I was the top point holder that drew a tag that year in the unit I applied for. Worked out pretty fair though:

I didn't make the same mistake with sheep. A good friend offered to help me out with sheep in a unit he knows as well as anyone alive. I didn't waste time and points, I wanted a tag so drew in 2019. Took 26 days of hunting, but again worked out pretty well:

Applied for moose in 2020 again after my 5 year wait. Nothing.

Got extremely lucky in 2021 and snagged a random tag in a neighboring unit I drew my first tag in. That worked out really well, killing this bull about 20 minutes into the rifle season after calling it from about a mile:

I have no complaints but wouldn't mind a bison tag.

Wyoming has been good to me as well.
Buzz told me that changes were afoot so I went with an easier draw area for sheep.
30Hart put me on to a great area for moose.
It all worked out!
MM friends are a wonderful thing!
Thanks,
Zeke

Gotta dig up some pics, 2 cow bison for me, 2 smallish bull moose and 1 B&C bighorn.
Still have some moose PPs too.

My two free range Wyoming bison. The first politely ran into Teton Park and died. That's an interesting story.

The second bull was taken with two of my grandsons and SIL on the hunt. It was very memorable and a larger bull than the first. This bull was well within NF boundaries

@DoubleDropMuley havent you gotten something?

Come on guys. Other threads are getting hard to read and follow. We need some cool stuff to look at.

This includes the non residents.

I will share some pics from a 2017 goat hunt. Was actually with a MM member who was a NR. I will not post his success photo, but there was success with a bow. Was a great trip going with a guy you never met. Hiked hard, getting off trail in the dark and walking up in a grizzly packing out. Included a black bear we saw up in goat country. The 5th,6th and 7th picture is the goat that got harvested . I can't recall but I think we saw roughly 24 goats in 2 days.
