    Pics of 2017 Wasatch Bulls

My aunt had the ML tag in 2015 and we were able to get into a few herds and she had a few chances at some 300 inch bulls. It was a lot of fun. This year my dad drew the tag with 0 points and a week before the hunt I was notified that someone surrendered and I was next in line, I had 2 points...

    Non Resident Antelope Help!

I've got a 2-3 points for Wyoming Antelope and I'd like to see if anyone can give me some advice on where to apply. I'm looking for a unit I can draw maybe next year or the following. I realize I can't hunt the top unit with few points so any area that is decent that a non resident can draw with...

17 Utah Moose Points - Help

So as of right now I'm sitting with 17 moose points. I realize that in most units I'm still about 100 years from actually drawing them with max points. The only unit that has potential in the next 10 years is East Canyon. I've hunted it a lot for deer and elk over the years but wanted to see...

    Silent On the Wasatch

Anyone heard much bugling on the Wasatch? We just spent the first two days of the ML hunt and maybe heard two bugles. The only elk was saw two spikes and a cow. Just curious as to what anyone else saw or heard. Monday we spent up by Trout Creek, which was a mistake since everyone else with a ML...

    Bookcliffs Roadless - Fish Creek

@elk8272 we have camped up by the drill head the last few years on both muzzleloader and rifle elk hunts. Always plenty of water for the horses.

    Score?

I'm with you on this one. This bull is a lot bigger than 310-320. Look at the bases and those fronts. That bull is 350+ for sure. Awesome bull and a monster for a stick and string for sure. Congrats! >310? I'm going to go out >on a limb here and >say most of you are >seriously low...

    Book Cliffs Roadless Bull

Where to start. Congrats to everyone that has shot their bulls this year and good luck to all who are still waiting to go. My brother was lucky enough (16 points) to draw the book cliffs roadless rifle tag. He actually drew it last year but turned it in so he could get married instead. A...

    Rainy Elk

We hunted in the rain last year during the limited entry muzzleloader hunt. We were all very wet but it didn't seem to slow up the elk bugling too much. Just make sure to have rain gear and some extra socks.

    The Bulls Together

Great work guys! My dad and I were hunting on the Diamond Mountain muzzleloader hunt and they showed us pictures of your bulls. It was Larry Christensen. Good to see you guys were successful and got some great bulls. That 5 point is ridiculous!

Question about best truck to hunt in

My feet treat me pretty good. Seem to scare the deer less with them then with a big diesel. :)

    I CAN'T WAIT ANY LONGER!

I hear you man. The smell of the leaves changing is killing me. I can smell elk country. I ran the red rock relay this last weekend and while running through the mountains I could swear I could smell elk.

    LE Roadless BookCliffs

@CWeeks honestly it depends on how good of shape you are in and how ambitious you are. I shot my bull back in 7 miles. My bull was a 9 year old that added up to a lot of weight. It would have taken me quite a few trips in to get the animal out. There are a few options if you don't have...

    LE Roadless BookCliffs

Nope. They had a nice bull at under 30 yards but just couldn't get a shot off. If I hear anything I'll let you guys know. A friend of mine has a muzzleloader permit down there as well. Anything I hear I'll share.

    Rookie question... please help

I agree with Elkhunter96 Elk can and will move all the time. Elk can easily cover a few miles in just over night and during the rut they will constantly be moving around. The good thing is if they are bugling you will have an easier time finding more bulls. Just don't be afraid to use your feet.

    LE Roadless BookCliffs

A friend is guiding an archer down there right now and it's been tough for them. Too hot and the bulls are staying in the thick of trees. I had a muzzleloader permit there in 2009 and it was the same situation. Both the archers and the any weapons guys didn't get to hunt that much in the heat...

    any bull

Haha good luck with that. I would aim for exactly what the tag says "any bull" Hunters with limited entry tags have a hard time filling their tag with a 350 bull let alone an any bull area.

Elk huntng in the Book ciffs

Elk huntng in the Book ciffs

@wpg3ut I drew the muzzle loader tag back in 2009. We hunted only in right hand fish creek and left hand fish creek. I ended up shooting my bull down right hand. http://www.myrockymountainhunting.com/2009/09/blog-post.html. We had seen one other bull of this caliber and about 10 or so bulls...

    Book Cliffs Roadless

@acafton - I drew this tag back in 2009 and we went in on horses. I've been hunting since i was old enough to walk and trust me the roadless area has been by far the best hunt I've ever been on. The country is remote, you don't have idiots on four wheelers to lazy to get off and chase any...

    UT Gov tag bull

@cantkillathing The bull in the trail pictures is not 330ish. Those extra points are going to add up fast. I wouldn't be surprised at all if it made 360+ I saw the picture of the dead elk and they are identical, minus the photo shopped points they added back in.
