What I stated was he has applied for 34 for 17 years without being drawn. Not sure why you're trying to read more than that into it.

I don't believe he's lying to me. I guess it's bad luck. However, I have another friend in NM that hasn't drawn in almost 15 years. I don't think he's lying to me either.

Yep The waiting period at another chance to hunt there was a reason for taking a nice buck instead of one that makes you happy. I said they were there for the opportunity at a big buck. The lack of future opportunity played a part in them taking a nice one. Is it that hard to understand?

Pretty simple If a hunter has to wait years for the opportunity to hunt a big buck unit, why is he looked down on for shooting a good but not great buck. He knows the odds of getting back in that unit before 5 plus years and in some cases longer are really slim.

NR aren't all wealthy. We just like to hunt. Texas hunting land is almost all private. Whether it's a 3 day hunt or a season lease it's going to cost $2500 to $5000 a year to hunt. These aren't high fence properties. Just ranch land. We can't hunt for $100 on public land like you guys...
