I've been reloading for 52 years without a single incident. Always do it by the book. I would wither seat the bullets with the correct die or toss them. Your savings on 20 pieces of brass is not worth the risk.

I think Homer is trying to educate us on the difference between cartridge and caliber.

It doesn't have to be that complicated. Start with some type of a partition load and if that doesn't work, move on the next choice until you are satisfied with the accuracy. I just don't see the need for target rifle accuracy in a hunting rig.

I have both but use the electronic scale for weighing and sorting cases. I use my beam scale for weighing powder charges.
