Depending on what you are after this unit is a fun hunt. We have hunted it in the past and had a great time watching bucks and being picky. You should be able to shoot a 170" buck fairly easy from what I have seen in the past. Has been dry all summer until this last month we have got quite a bit...
We have a rifle tag in the family, got a phone call on a turned back expo tag. Didn't even know that was a thing, but we will take it. Looking forward to getting out there, it has been a few years since I have hunted the unit. Good luck guys
Member, COZY25, shared this pic in a good POLL thread going in the Mule Deer Forum called, "In what state did you take your biggest buck?" See the POLL here...>>> https://www.monstermuleys.info/xf/threads/in-what-state-did-you-take-your-biggest-buck.188037/
Doesn't the ATN have an option for an external battery pack? I have done this in the past and it works well. I am not an ATN fan though, you will be happy with the Halo.

My dad and brother hunted hard in CO for a buck worth hanging a tag on. After spending 3 days scouting they had not turned up any bucks that got them excited.
Opening day came and went as they watch a few of the borderline bucks get shot by other hunters. A little discouraged they kept hunting...
Rural Utah is still pretty great for the time being. I think the only other place I could stand to live in is Wyoming. Just spent a week out in the Wyoming deserts chasing coyotes and only passed one truck on the dirt roads. It was pretty refreshing.
Randy has little different personality but overall can't fault the guy. He puts his money where his mouth is and is a good sportsman to have on our side.
As far as it being the best western hunting show... have you guys not been watching the western hunter?? lol IMO the best show on tv.
I switched units this year and so I was hunting an area that I have never hunted in the past. Put in a lot of scouting trips through the summer and ended up killing my number one buck opening day.
We have seen some great bucks and I have a buddy with a tag that we are still trying to fill. I...
