    Donkeys again…

Uhhhhhhh… what a horrible team effort. Just bad all around. As embarrassed as I am though - this is just funny. Sorry Colorado - bad weekend!! But at least you still have all those 14ers and some great mule deer.

Who is soooo sick of dogs in stores?

10 Things I don't like in today's society: 1 - Kids walking across my grass!!! Stay off my lawn! 2 - All the technology that I don't understand!! It will take me years to catch up to these punks. I miss my manual typewriter. 3 - Stop signs!! I mean - isn't it obvious that you should all just...

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

I think we did OK for not knowing what the hell we were doing. It was a ton of fun and Kayson had a hell of a time.

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

Days 7-8 Vancouver Day 7 (8/21) - Our day started bright and early with a fishing charter with Captain Roy Tanami of Roy’s Fishing Charters in Vancouver. We were grateful the weather was cooperating with us as the previous few days the winds were gale force and Captain Roy had warned us that it...

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

Day 6 (8/20) - We made an early morning trip to Irish Lake and had the lake all to ourselves. Not a soul was there. Not even the fish. So, we spooled up after a couple of hours and went and attended Sacrament Meeting at the 100 Mile House Branch. Kayson said his final goodbyes to his friends...

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

Day 5 (8/19) - We decided the best way for us to fish for the bigger rainbows was to rent a canoe on Sheridan Lake. We made it to the end of the dock where we found that surprisingly, the lake water in Canada is not as cold as you might expect. If somebody has video of it and it goes viral I...

Days 4-6 - The Cariboo and Lower Mainland Day 4 (8/18) - We started the day off in 100 Mile House, B.C. after a good night’s rest with a maple donut and honey cruller from Tim Horton’s where we learned that a massive wildfire was raging out of control in West Kelowna, where we had just been the...

Day 3 ( 8/17) - We started out the day bright and early with a half-day charter on Lake Okanagan with Rodney's Reel Outdoors and our guide Len Palik. Len was a great guy and we were happy he could accommodate us at the last minute and I was glad we spent the money. The fishing was slow but he...

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

Day 2 (8/16) - The weather was hot - but not Texas hot. The air doesn’t hurt you when you walk through it. The fishing was slow and we were really just learning the area. We started out at Skaha Lake and were unsuccessful there so we moved on to Okanagan Lake in the afternoon and then moved on...

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son

Travelogue of The Great 2023 Canadian Fishing Adventure of Roy and Son In the summer of 2022 we took our youngest two kids on a cruise to Alaska but our oldest boy couldn't go because of work. I told him we would make up for it though by taking a fishing trip to BC where he served as a...

Fishing Recommendations - BC - Okanagan and Cariboo Regions

Oh yeah - it was Taco Time!! Good thing for photographic evidence! And it definitely was Rock Springs. My brother had an elk hunt in the Big Horns - we didn't get anything that week during archery season, but he got a 340 Bull later, on the last day of the rifle season. Epic times!

HA HA - you know I luv ya buddy!! Maybe next year we will plan a trip to Shelter Cove for some kayak fishing and we can meet up. Or, another Wyoming elk trip. I'll bet we can find a better place to find a bite to eat than that McDonald's where we met you before.

In Eel's case, it is lead weights with treble hooks used to snag turtles from kid's ponds.

Eel is still upset that I nearly got him busted for turtle poaching. Or rather, purchasing giant turtle shells at yard sales and passing them off as his own.

Fishing Recommendations - BC - Okanagan and Cariboo Regions

I posted this already in the Canada forum but it hasn't got any traction there, so reposting here. My son and I are heading up there in mid August doing a DIY fishing trip. He served an LDS Mission there from 2017-2019 and we are going back to do some fishing and visit some of the folks he...

    Colonoscopy- How bad?

Not a big deal at all. They give you some good meds and you sleep right through it and have no memory, except for the pics the docs and nurses take while you are out. I didn't understand the need for the bows and ribbons, but I guess it's part of the medical procedure. Best nap I took all year.

K3's First Bull - Utah Youth Tag Success!!

When 16-year-old Kenyon (long time MMer TripleK's youngest son, whom she lovingly refers to as K3) drew the Utah Youth Bull Elk Tag earlier this year, he was excited but tempered his expectations as he knew that on this hunt any bull bigger than a spike would be a great result for his first bull...
