Ok thanks, am a little behind on the regs. As I understand, the NR caps for bighorn sheep bison still apply to the total number of tags statewide, not to each hunt. forepaw

I thought the 10% cap only applied to bighorn sheep, bison, bull elk, and mule deer north of the CO River. Are they really applying it to javis (turkeys, bear) now? forepaw

javihammer, Absolutely agree. I grew up in the E. Salt River Valley, and lots of years have gone by the wayside since then. Have enjoyed hunting other western states, but still look forward to AZ even as a NR. And agree that AGFD is way underrated. forepaw

My last deer tag there was 2005. That area gets a lot of pressure, and at the time, had some lions as well, based on the tracks I saw after I put away my rifle and started hunting quail. There are known to be some big bucks in the higher elevations however. forepaw
