That would be interesting. How many years has this been running? There were over 230,000 apps. for 24,350 elk tags this year.

    Arizona Retirement Home

Ok thanks, good to know. Not much that can be done about the layout, as it basically grew out of a 19th century mining town, but the crime and etc. might be partially due to all the social programs that have sprung up over the past few years. Boss at my first job told me it was a good place to...

    Arizona Retirement Home

Hey bonecollector777, just curious, what is it that you see as a problem with Globe? I don't live there, don't even live in AZ for that matter, just curious as to where the cons outweigh the pros for that small city. Thanks. forepaw

    Arizona draw question

Ok thanks, am a little behind on the regs. As I understand, the NR caps for bighorn sheep bison still apply to the total number of tags statewide, not to each hunt. forepaw

    Arizona draw question

I thought the 10% cap only applied to bighorn sheep, bison, bull elk, and mule deer north of the CO River. Are they really applying it to javis (turkeys, bear) now? forepaw

    Opening morning Antelope

Thanks for info, I will check it out. Very nice buck. It will make a great mount, especially if you are able have it side by side with one from WA, WY,or OR, or another NV buck for that matter! forepaw

    calculating shot window

Howdy 82ndreddevil, One thing that might tell the tale is to go to your local pro-shop, and shoot on a large backstop at 20 yds. Put your target near the bottom, and centerpunch it using your 20 yd. pin. Then hold on the target and shoot with your other pins. You should have a "ladder" which...

Best Upper Body Exercises for Archery

Appreciate all the replies, good info, and some I had not thought of. As you get older, it is really important to not only put in the extra work at keeping fit, but also get the most bang for the buck in terms of activities, quality exercise, rest, diet, etc. When we're young, we just go go...

Best Upper Body Exercises for Archery

trophyhunter, 10-4, good stuff. By sitting, do you mean in a chair or on the ground? With my borderline KE I really can't afford to go any lighter, am shooting a 391 gr. XT at 240 fps. Thanks. forepaw

Best Upper Body Exercises for Archery

Howdy MM amigos, With elk season now less than 5 mos. away, thought I would see if anyone can recommend favorite back/shoulders/arms exercises that are known to produce results in terms of extended draw/hold muscle memory and stamina. I do conditioning exercises (cardio and low impact...

    They're hitting cc cards

Tough break, though you are not the first. At least you will be hunting, but no way of catching up those points. A hunter ed. and loyalty point will still give you 2. Could you transfer the tag to a relative, and help a new hunter? forepaw

    They're hitting cc cards

    >It has to be a mistake. >I got hit for 650. > Either 7w or 1,2b,2c >archery with 5 points. > 7w archery for a NR with 5 pts. would be rare I would think, but not impossible. 1 2b 2c probably not. Be interesting to see which. I burned 15 NR pts. and have drawn either 7w or 9. forepaw

    Desert Buck

Those SW AZ mule deer are really neat critters but can be hard to hunt. You got yourself a nice one. By the way (as an AZ native you probably know this), but AZ has 2 subspecies of MD - in addition to the usual Rocky Mtn. (Odocoileus hemionus). They are the Desert (O. h. crooki), and the Buro...

Reasons I love being an Arizona Hunter

javihammer, Absolutely agree. I grew up in the E. Salt River Valley, and lots of years have gone by the wayside since then. Have enjoyed hunting other western states, but still look forward to AZ even as a NR. And agree that AGFD is way underrated. forepaw

    18B early

My last deer tag there was 2005. That area gets a lot of pressure, and at the time, had some lions as well, based on the tracks I saw after I put away my rifle and started hunting quail. There are known to be some big bucks in the higher elevations however. forepaw

    Springbar VS Kodiak

I don't see a problem with that logic, however, I have been looking at both also, and tried to get the Cabela's answer lady to tell me where the Kodiak is made.
