Hey thanks Soj51,got him on Tuesday at 3:15 pm. He was the 7th out of 8 bucks I saw that day. There was a nice 4x4 about 80 yards away from him that was wider but not as tall or as heavy. This guy goes 251/4" wide and 191/2" tall really good mass. I am very happy to have taken a California buck...

Thanks Soj51 I set up camp yesterday, saw 3 younger bucks in the lower end of the unit all had does with em . Like you said, hopefully this weather system will get em moving!

Thank you highsierra, also thought I saw on another thread that you drew an antelope tag.My dad and I hunted x3b back in the late 80s and were amazed by the good lopes we used to see back then Good luck to you.

Drew this tag and will be scouting sporadically as time allows(never hunted D6) if anyone has any ideas of where a good spot to camp in national forest I would be?most thankful. Even a campground away from the Park would work. Hope to take one of those big bucks Obama took pictures of and fed...

Well cjboz, drew my G37 tag!!! Goose eggs on everything else but I'm good with that. OTC for archery elk in Colorado and still got Arizona deer pending, long shot there since I drew 12aw late in 2014. Come on November ! Yeeehaaaaah

Hopefully that will be me cj, got max points across the board! Been dreaming of chasing bucks, bulls, rams, and goats in Cali this year. Good luck to you! This killing time is killing me!!!!!!

Thanks for all the positive response guys. I just dropped off the Cape at the fur tanning business yesterday for a shoulder mount.

Non-Res , took 16 points to draw. That includes hunter ed and loyalty point which was still 1 below max due to a friend not submitting proper fees with apps 1 year.

Hey Danny thanks. The elk hunt didn't go as well as the first 3 times we went. Got 1 quick shot with the muzzle loader opening day(a clean miss).only saw 4 cows and 1 rag horn bull out of range in 3 days of hard hunting. We usually get into the animals on this hunt but not this time. Oh well...

Thanks for the congrats guys. I ended up getting him in the lower country. Saw lots of deer in the pj's didn't see any up high. Started spotting the bigger bucks in the lower sage flats with their harem of does. Had 3 different big boys I was after and ended up with this one. Passed on a 27" 3x4...

Thanks guys. It was a special hunt as I dedicated it to my Dad that I lost in March to pancreatic cancer. Each time I was on a hunt whether with him or alone he would always tell me to go get the big one.

Just got done going through my cold weather gear and packing it for the hunt. I'll try n give you a call tomorrow. I plan on setting up camp on the 19th.

Drew 12aw late question I have is does Az. Game and Fish still only recommend non-lead bullets on the Kaibab or do they require them ? Thanks in advance for any correct info. On the subject . PS. Congrats to all others that also drew !

Congrats DidI , I also drew after 15 yrs & 16 pts. 12Aw late. Kind of bitter sweet though , Dad was looking forward to going & helping spot but unfortunately we lost him to cancer this past march.
