    Beach Recommendation -So. Cal/San Diego?

LAST EDITED ON Mar-26-13 AT 08:46PM (MST)[p]San Diego native here. La Jolla or Coronado for sure. Both are very touristy in upscale areas. Clean with mostly normal people. Coronado is closer to the Zoo/ Seaworld than La Jolla is if that helps. Used to spend a lot of time at Mission and Pacific...

    PLEASE HELP

Marley, Have you reported the incident to the police? If you have serial numbers on any of those items, they can be entered into a local and or national crime database as stolen property. I won't BS you, its a long shot but if you dont do it and some police officer has some guy stopped with...

LAST EDITED ON May-07-10 AT 01:29PM (MST)[p]Im curious to hear what your wife's reaction was. Does she hunt too or did you drag her out there? My wife is not even close to being interested in going hunting with me but if she was in your wife's shoes, things might be different. That is very cool...

I was wondering what your thoughts are on spot and stalk approaches on deer that are feeding vs. deer that are bedded. Which do you feel would give the best advantage and why? Thanks, Breacher

    Unit 75 archery mule deer.

Sorry, I wish I was posting pictures and a story for you rather than a question. I was doing some research here on MM and haven't found much about this unit. A buddy and I are planning a backpack archery hunt for mule deer. We are looking at unit 75. Non-res odds are a little over 50% but I...

    Sheep in San Diego

Cool, I didn't know any of that. Ive been looking at the California Dept. of Fish and Game's website and notice there have been tags for the Orocopia Mountains which aren't too much further to the north compared to the location I saw these sheep. Are those the Nelson subspecies? Im 30 now and...

    My how times have changed

You know, I wish our country never got to this point but let me ask you guys a question. Im sure a lot of you MM members are parents of school age kids. There are lots of lunatics out there that seem pretty normal at first. Sometimes it takes an event to make them snap. If some kid left his...

    My how times have changed

Hardway, I agree with what you have posted so far but remember, law makers are writing the laws, not "Barney Fife". Police enforce the laws but there are two types of enforcement. Letter of the law and spirit of the law. Letter of the law is by the book, spirit of the law give police a huge...

    My how times have changed

Hardway is right. You can live next to a school and own any legal weapon you want as long as you aren't a convicted felon...........You can also walk that legal weapon to and from your car on the street as long as its cased properly. The law applies to criminal activity not necessarily just...

CA hunters, please check out this thread about deception

Im not going to criticize anyone for believing this dumbsh*t but c'mon. As soon as I saw those pictures I thought, no freakin way those are CA deer. And for the guy to say, "I couldn't decide which one I wanted so I shot them both"! I'd have to see a heck of a lot more proof than his bedroom...

LAST EDITED ON Nov-23-09 AT 12:30PM (MST)[p]My brother in law and I were doing some deer hunting a while back in the high desert area of Southern California. Shotgun duck, goose, turkey

I'd have to agree with CAelknuts. Ive shot plenty of turkey with 2 3/4" shells and never had an issue. My personal favorite is the Rem 11-87 in 12 ga. Can shoot 3" shells if you need. A buddy of mine has never used anything more than a 20 gauge w/ 3" shells for duck hunting and does just as well...

    Pheasant hunt interruption

Heck, It may not be necessary for the yelling and cursing if thats what happened. I think i'd rather get a tongue lashing than for the Sheriff to show up. Browning rage, There are always two sides to every story. I will take your word for what its worth but will give you an example of my own. My grandfather owns a small ranch in the mountains of San Diego. There are a lot of deer and turkey on his property. My grandfather doesn't allow anyone...

Ive never hunted there before. We got a smokin deal on the hunt which was donated to the safari club for a silent aution item. Bigthree, so whats the pheasant hunting really like out there? Is it all that its hopped up to be? Law Enforcement and Hunting

They may not of violated any laws if that is the case but why would you kill an animal in front of an audience. It doesnt sound like that woman was the only one who witnessed this. That doesnt seem right to me. I personally feel this is a huge ethical decision. As hunters we dont go hunting...
