I had a centroid for the past two years and never, never got comfortable with it. I always felt "off". I still killed an elk a moose and a deer with it in those two years, but never felt confident with it. This year I bought a Bear Agenda 6 and it shoots lights out. Love it.

I agree it will be best to try a few different bullets. It is hard to go wrong with BH209 powder. It is clean and non corrosive and I have shot around 30 shots with it without ever having to swab the barrel. If you can get a bullet to group as good or better than the power belts I sure would...

Another vote for the barnes. I shoot the 245's over 110-120 grains of blackhorn 209 and shoot 1.5" groups at 100 yards.

I got my 8 year old the Bear Apprentice. It has been a great bow. I got it for him last year. He should be able to grow with it and eventually hunt with it as a starter bow. Good bow and around $300.

Wiz, what truck are you putting it on? I have one I built for snowmobiles, but would work well for ATV's. It is bombproof and probably well overbuilt but I would sell it for $700. It will fit a long bed, but I only have a short bed now.

Classes are definitely good and worth it. You can get the ammo down there for about 40 cents a round. They had plenty, although they would only sell you enough for your class. I plan on going back a couple times a year.
