Be careful out there this year. In 2013 there were many stranded hunters, trucks washed down arroyos, mud slides and river crossing. Rough hunt. Lucky to get a small 5x6 late in the hunt. It was a rough hunt and we didn’t have the preliminary burn to deal with. Stay safe.

I have never hunted 42 so I’m of no help but just looked at the map. It appears there is very little public land in the unit so maybe start by calling ranchers to see if any would allow you access. Best of luck
