I've had that tag twice myself, it is a tough area to hunt but it does have some nice bucks, if you planned on hunting early on October 5th your best bet would be to get up in the high country this is good cause you can hunt 5 days before the general season opens, but if you hunt those last days...

So your telling me not to hunt the first five days cause I might mess up someone with a muzzleloader elk tag? What about that guy with the elk tag messing up my chance at shooting a big buck in the first five days of the season? The way I see it it goes both ways, I'm not looking to mess up...

There were very slight thermal waves in the scope but not bad, parralax was adjusted at every range I shot, the scope was not leveled to the gun, I've never had problems with this on any of my other rifles shooting good at long range, I am shooting factory ammo with Berger VLD bullets.

I shoot regularly out to 500 yards usually 400 yards is fairly easy shot that's why it didn't make sense to me why I was hitting where I was at 400, but I will try the 1 inch box shot at 100 and let ya know what I come up with, Thanks!

Hey I was shooting my rifle this weekend and I'm having a little bit of a problem, I have a burris c4 plus scope so I shot it at 100 yards 2 bullets they hit 1/2 apart center to center so I let barrel cool off, turned turret to 200 yds shot 1 bullet perfect bullseye, let barrel cool again...

I've shot the slick trick standard and magnums for lots of years they have shot very well even out to 80 yards and are very strong and sharp!

I drew area 66 either sex deer from October 5th to November 8th, I've hunted the area a little bit on the general in the past but was wondering if anyone has any pointers on what would be a good part of the area to consentrate on for a good buck any info would be appreciated thanks!
