    What's in Your Pickup?

Damn. ICM led off with the most comprehensive list - have a good chunk of that stuff in mine but not all, especially not as much vehicle maint stuff. The mule tape several mention is a new one to me, and I will look into getting some from a contact. My only different addition is a couple 75'...

    Shop Builders?

Had Vap Construction do mine - they are outta Atwood, KS and travel and do quite a few builds in WY so should travel your way. I like their post frame construction with decidedly more framing. The quote you got is probably close though, as I was around half of that, but slightly smaller and 8...

    Lion mount came home

It took a lot longer than planned, but it was nice to get this big guy home and have home guarding the stairs. I didn’t want a snarl and like the open mouth.

    Wyoming Area 100 type-2

I’ll be honest - I pulled it in the NR random. I have drawn and filled a 100-1 tag and two 100-4 cow tags in the last 7-8 years. I just love the open country and looking at elk out there. It is really neat country to hunt in. Had just punched a cow tag out there in 2021 so decided I...

    Wyoming unit 24 elk

Yes, you should be fine in your truck as long as you don't mind "using" it a bit on some rough roads. I woud rather ATV on some of those roads, but many people doing them in trucks (and why I never by a used truck from WY!)

    Build problem

I have the issue on a rifle as well...and I just deal with it. Only shooting at range when on max power and have conflict. Game shots, I dial down a bit and conflct isn't there. Before I read your whoel message I was thinking chamfering the throw so you are on the right track - you don't need...

    Mountain Loins

Yes, the cats smell when you skin them, but the meat off the lion I took and several others is like bland pork with no odor - blindfolded my buddies coudl tell difference from pork. It is a bit tougher, so slice this or tenderize accordingly. And be sure to cool to 160-165. But if you get...

    Lightweight gun case for travel

They don't sell them anymore, but Cabela's used to have an aluminum 2-gun model that I have, and I was able to put two rifles, optics and other gear in there...had to use both knees to compress it, but was still under weight....Looks like the Bass pro team decided it was nice stuff and got rid...

    Duck Bacon

I haven't done goose. The foodie trend is out there iwth domestic ducks, and I think smaller geese would work and just lengthen time in cure to get it to penetrate. The stuff is phenomenal...

Yes, ducks, as bacon I waited too long to try and make this - very easy. Followed the DU recipe and added maple syrup to cure and additional maple glaze while smoking. Duck Bacon (ducks.org)

Setting up for black Horn 209

Out of a TC Omega, I use 100gr BH209...but would start with less - it pops pretty hard. I just am too loazy to work up a new load when the one I have works. For the TC, I also use a deepwell socket with 1/4 breaker bar. That is one of the best things with BH209 - no more seized breech plugs...

once you go BH 209, you won't go back....the cleanability is the main hook, but the accuracy will get even better. Nice shooting - those CVAs can shoot! Have fun with it.
