What Mntman said. Sometimes you can glass up bucks staging up 20 to 50 yards inside the timber waiting for it to get dark enough for their liking. Another option, depending on the state you live in and their laws, as well as if it is their only source of water. I have heard of guys back east...

@bjackson I have an archery tag @tristate the unit is huge, it goes from basically same north as top of utah lake down to the south end of the dunes, and as Far East as vernon and eureka to as far west as you really want to go ( not an exact description, but that will give you an idea)

I have always been told that mature deer can grow from 1/2" to 1" a day. so maybe another 15" to 30" to there score now. (give or take depending on feed and genetics) those look like they would both be shooters in my book tho!

We do not have an early registration set up, just show up between 9 and 5 and we will have some people up there selling the raffle tickets and taking admission money. hope this clears some stuff up.

I saw a stud up there 2 years ago on the rifle deer hunt, I would have guessed him to go low 80's. Hit me up through pm if ya get the tag and I'll tell ya right where I saw him. He was right off a dirt road and stayed there trough the whole hunt.

I put in for a group LE deer hunt and we haven't been hit yet either!

I have 3, my friend I put in with has 12. So we will average out at 7 each. You should be a shoe in with 9 points. Looks like 8 points is 100% and with 7 we should have roughly 70%-80%. Have you hunted this unit before?

I just checked a thread from last year on the Utah Wildlife Network forum. Cards were getting hit on the 14th and 15 of May for LE, once in a lifetime and some general tags. My fingers are crossed for a vernon archery tag hitting my card tomorrow am!!
