Not until 7-22 Sep...moved it back a week (elk/deer archery) this year and now chomping at the bit, knowing others are heading out! Oh well, patience is a virtue and hoping I'll hit the peak rut...we'll see.

I've done 67 solo archery, for last two years. Steep on foot. Only folks I ran into had taken horses up. I do 2 x 7 day spike camps up high each year and have only run into people twice in 28 days. It's not teeming with elk but they are up there. I've seen elk each trip, within 30yds but...

Never getting rid of my Reign 7, it's a tack driver and tunes great so BH and FPs fly the same 70+yds. Good luck finding someone willing to part with theirs.

Easy mount, with only a small saw in the field is something like this. Cut straight down in front of the antlers and at an angle of about 90 degrees, cut forward from the back. Keep the brass, find a nice piece of wood and then mount them., see pics. Fairly easy and doesn't take much space...

True, I purposely picked 67 because it isn't a high percentage or super popular unit with lots of road (mostly wilderness), which helps ensure I was able to avoid "crowds". It's also OTC and being out of state, I could plan on having a tag, without having to worry about a draw...

Super job! I was 4 miles in, solo archer, in rugged ID terrain last week. Nice 5x5 bull at 30 yds broadside. I paused (maybe thinking of that pack out on 55 year old knees) and he bolted. Glad you got that beautiful animal and now you have a great pack out memory/epic story for fireside...
