Rookie bear hunter drew San Juan early want to try spot and stalk just a few questions. Hunt runs April 4th - June 5th should I hit it hard the first weeks or is later better? Is there some country that might be better to hunt in to avoid those hunting with dogs? How soon will they rub? Thanks...

Never hunted Bear before drew a San Juan tag, I plan to hunt spot and stalk.I would like little help I have never been in this unit and would like a good starting point? Maybe an area where I wont have to compete with or be in the way of those hunting with dogs.I can only get about a week off...

Not sure on the drew if I already have a hit for a general deer tag which is 6th in the drew order am I done no chance on any other tags?

I have about 10 lbs.of hodgen powder that I have had stored for about 35 years in my basement think it is ok to us? I opened a can looks fine no strange smell.
