    Swarovski Pure vs EL

I am going to pass my current Swaro binocs onto my son. I am looking at the Swarovski 12x42 Pure and 12x50 EL. I see the Pure has a field of view at 1,000 yards of 339ft. The EL is 300ft. It is hard in a store telling the difference other than the cost. Thoughts on both appreciated.

    Kudu Kudu Kudu

I still wonder what I was thinking when I look at these pics. I took pictures instead of pulling the trigger. I had shot some amazing Kudu this trip and elected to just watch and take pics. An amazing species I love to pursue.

    7x1 from the past

While everyone is out having a great elk hunting season it made me think about a hunt where my dad took this 7x1. Would love to know the story of this bull. He had a huge body. Was definitely the king of his harem even with one horn. Good luck this fall and be safe.

    From Start to Finish Poll

Asking for opinions on what “YOU” consider is a reasonable amount of time from when you drop off the animal to your taxidermist to when you expect it should be completed and ready to go?

    ATV/Side by Side

LAST EDITED ON Sep-21-18 AT 05:14PM (MST)[p]Question as it has been a while since I even considered taking an ATV or side by side to WY. Is it still legal? Does it require a stamp or permit? A friend told me he thought they had been banned but was not sure. Any info would be appreciated. If I...

Have you ever won a hunt?

Just curious how many of you have ever won a hunt. Was it as advertised? Did they try and up sell you? Was the hunt as you hoped it would be? I cannot answer these questions as I never have. I always see the winners posted stories and pics but have wondered how many are not successful or as...

    Shipping Information

Based on another thread I am starting this one. If you have what you feel are credible shippers please share. I have yet to use one that I didn't think was way to high. The guy from Namibia was much closer to my estimate than the people in South Africa and Botswana. Got hosed there for...

    Why Not Africa??

Just curious why you think more people don't go to Africa? Is it fear? Cost? Perception? Africa is my happy place. I cannot spend enough time there. I have some friends that would not even go if the safari was free. I think most of it is perceived cost as opposed to actual cost. I don't...

    Nyala

Pictures have been slow on this forum for a while so I thought I would post one of my favorite trophies. I saw so many Nyala while hunting with the Rudman's at Blaauwkrantz. I felt fortunate to take this old bull. Absolutely one of my favorite trophies and mounts in the trophy room. Hard to...

    Misc Fees

Curious your thoughts on misc fees some outfitters charge such as the following: Transport to and from the airport? Rifle rental? Ammo? Alcohol? Observer rate? For me personally i despise the pickup and return fee. I don't agree with rifle rental fee but if it is 10 or 20 a day so be...

    Wyoming Antelope 2018

Anyone draw a speed goat tag this year? I will purchase a point but did apply my son and with just a couple of points he drew. Being 15 and going antelope hunting, him shooting for the first time, should be a thrill for him. Glad I don't need to know honey holes, places to start, expectations...

    Knee Replacement Surgery

Unfortunately a part of my knee from a previous surgery has come apart in the last month and my only option is to have a total knee replacement. The goal of the doctor and myself was to try and get another 2-3 years but that is no longer possible. I am scheduled for the end of August...

Why go with the same outfitter?

I curious to hear your thoughts. In Africa only, not the states, why would you go back to the same country to hunt with the same outfitter more than once? I have been three times, to three countries, with three different outfitters. I would recommend all three and had an A+ experience with...

    Bad African PH??

Have you personally hunted with a bad PH in Africa? I have been with three PH's on three safaris and they were all top notch. Barry, Jason and Schalk are now my friends and I would gladly hunt with them again. Sadly, I have hunted with some not so good guides in the states and Canada but...

    Rifles to Africa

Just curious. Do you take your rifles to Africa? I have on my previous three safaris and plan to on all future safaris. I feel comfortable with my rifle(s), I know where it shoots. There is just to much $$$$ on the line every time I pull the trigger to take a chance with someone else rifle...

    Tholo Safaris - Kudu

There are many reasons to hunt with Tholo Safaris but the Kudu hunting is second to none. I was fortunate to hunt there for a few days in July 2017. If you want a big Kudu it would be hard to finder a better option and the pricing is excellent. This past week Randy Johnson, from Utah, took...
