061, 062, 064 071, 073 Antelope

Folks,
I drew a rifle tag for this area as my 5th choice and I'm trying to narrow things down a bit. Has anyone hunted this area? If so, how would you rate the numbers and trophy quality of the antelope.I decided to cash in my points this year because I was looking for a somewhat laid back big game hunt that I could take my girls (ages 5 and 7) on that had a reasonably good chance of success. I understand that it's probably not a top flight area, but I have relatives in the area and I figured I could do a summer vacation type visit & hunting trip combo. I do plan to get out there a few days early to scout.

Any general areas to start out with would be much appreciated as well. Like always, no honey holes expected.

Been some time now since I have been up in these areas, but I would day that 064 & 073 would be better for Antelope.
Hopefully some of the locals in the area around these units will chime in here and give you an idea where to look. Are you a NR or Resident of NV?

I'm a non-resident, but I have family in Elko. I love hunting in NV when I can get a tag. I've hunted deer a couple of times in NV in the past, but this is my first antelope tag.

I had a friend hunt this unit/units a couple of years ago with archery and he was into bucks pretty much everyday. I'll try and contact him and see if I can get some info for you.

LAST EDITED ON Jun-11-10 AT 10:10AM (MST)[p]I hunted it in 2002 for myself, and 2004 with a girlfriend, so my info is a bit outdated, but... Lots of antelope, lots of bucks, and big country. You may be hard pressed to find something over 80", but plenty of 75-78" bucks.

I drew the same tag maybe I will see you there Looking at hunting area 73 all though i have never hunted that area Ill be in a white chevy truck.
