First post... thanks in advance for any and all advice. My 13 year old son got his youth tag this year in unit 6... been up there twice for multiple days and have not seen a single deer. Spent 3 nights on the east side of Merritt Mountain in late September and again for the opener the past few days and nothing. A decent number of hunters out there and didn't hear a single shot fired. I was very surprised as the area has tons of feed and water and we kept expecting to run in to a herd at any given moment. Even went over into 062 to see if we could spot anything up by Pennsylvania Hill with the same results. I'm hearing that deer move into these areas sometimes later in the season?
