101-108 Rifle or Muzz?

I realize there are far more tags out there for the rifle hunt than the ML hunt. Which is the hunt that will be better for a pack-in trip (not with horses, hiking in). I plan on packing in and and being somewhat mobile. Which would be the more injoyable hunt in your opinion? Will there be plenty of water in the high country in September? Is it typical to get weather during either hunt? Any feedback is appreciated.

I've hunted it rifle and did farely well. I think the muzzy may be more enjoyable due to the warmer weather and less tags. Snow is definately possible, but would melt quickly in Sept. The bucks are usually hard horned and have started growing there winter coat, and become pretty shaded up during Sept.
In October I spent a few days confined to my tent when a forecasted "weak" storm dumped 3 ft of snow in those mtns. During the rifle hunt the leaves start coming off those aspens, and the cold weather/snow can make the deer stay out and easier to see/hunt. Being able to shoot 300-400 yards is also a huge advantage over a muzzleloader in that country.

I agree that for getting up high and away from the crowds the muzzleloader hunt is the better choice. That place is a zoo for early rifle.

If you want to kill a big buck, the rifle and extra range gives you a much better chance. If you want nicer weather and a less crowded hunting experience, the muzzleloader is the way to go. I'd be happy with either:)
