I sure could use some ideas where to look for turkey this spring in 12A. I have never been in the unit and don't know where to start. Thanks for any suggestions.

Turkey are virtually everywhere on top of the plateau. Park and listen accross canyons at dark. Call a little to get responses. Drive roads the first hour after dark, stopping every 1/4 mile and yelp a little to locate roosted birds. Tons of unpressured birds up there. Should be a slam dunk.

There really are birds all across the Platue. Check the waterholes for tracks as well to locate which areas the birds are using.

try road 228a take it all the way to it end we have taken a few turkeys their, also if you want to get away from people try around sowatts trick tank we took 4 birds there last year Ken Miller

Here they are. Just kidding, like everyone else has said I have seen turkey's on almost every road that I have driven at some point.
