I burnt my non-resident NV deer points this year by drawing a 131-134 early rifle deer tag. Having never hunted this unit my plan is to hunt the second week of the season (October 12-20).

Hopeful that someone is willing to provide some input on what to expect regarding migration, caliber of bucks that one should not pass, areas to focus on, places to base a trailer camp, etc.

PM sent.

Its the climb that makes you a different person". - Yvon Chouinard

Well you can. But it would have to be in the cargo hold of a transport jet like a C5. Successfully landing it there would be harder.

Last year it was tough all the big bucks took off about the last week of archery. A 4x4 would have not been safe only saw a few of them running around early in the hunt didn't see anything big. Archery was incredible big bucks everywhere. Trevor marks was hunting above my camp every morning for a couple of days. He must of had a nice one in there but I wasn?t about to follow him.

I hunted around Troy peak a few years ago and Cherry creek in 132 in late October 1st of November. I never saw any big shooters. I took a 6x3. Probably 170 gross. Cool wierd trashy thing. Took him out in the flats in 132. Never saw the "migration". That word is overstated. There is only a few thousand deer in those units..so dont go looking for this huge migration with tons of deer. Although the "migration" that does happen i think is down and around the town of Lund.
