I have a question for all you legal minded people out there who are in the know. Today I received a census in the mail and it wasn't for me it was for my business. It wants every bit of information filled out that was already on my tax returns. its asking for sales, foreing sales, export/import amounts. inventory on hand. amount of goods paid for that were imports/exports. revenues broke down into 15 million different categories etc. It looks official enough but I'm wondering if I really am required to fill this out. It seems really intrusive and I really really really really really HATE obama and anything to do with our government right now. I wanna rip that census up into a million pieces and burn it but I wanna know from you legal guys out there if it really is required by law that I fill this piece of trash out. I just hate thinking im cooperating with the government especially when they aren't on my side.

The U.S. Census Bureau conducts an economic census every five years, as mandated by Title 13, U.S. Code. In late 2012, nearly 5 million businesses will receive 2012 Economic Census forms. All large and mid-size businesses will receive forms as well as a sample of the smallest establishments. Businesses will have the option to report on paper or electronically. Economic Census forms will be due back February 12, 2013. Business response is required by law.
