http://www.huntexpo.com/odds.php

Total Applicants 233,210 x $5.00 each is $1,166,050.00 for this years expo take, just of the 200 Public tags...

30% is $349,815

Also for some additional math. IF this is there average take for the next 5 years the 200 tags will generate $5,580,250.00.

30% is $1,749,075

Just thought I would share.

So these sfw guys are worried rmef couldn't sell 350000$ in tags to equate the 30% lol. they really think sfw is the only capable organization to bring in people. So truthfully it's not hard to believe that rmef would have done nearly the say in tag sales. So the Dwr would have gotten an additional 800k. So ya I can see why they chose sfw

233k in applications in 2016.
How many in attendance for each year?
Did more attend in 2016 but average out to be fewer tag applications?

Elkassasin.....
dont the nonresident tags taken to the expo still come out of the state nonresident pool?
If so, they still should be upset.

Theodore Roosevelt's guidance concerning
conservation...
"The movement for the conservation of wildlife,
and the conservation of all our natural resources,
are essentially democratic in spirit, purpose and
method."

"We do not intend that our natural resources shall
be exploited by the few against the interests of the
majority. Our aim is to preserve our natural
resources for the public as a whole, for the
average man and the average woman who make
up the body of the American people."

"It is in our power...to preserve game..and to give
reasonable opportunities for the exercise of the
skill of the hunter, whether he is or is not a man of
means."

According to the press release just sent out by SFW earlier this week, they had 40,000 plus in attendance. Not sure on the previous years. I am sure it is on there news feed on their website.

Based upon the maximum amount of applications for one of the non-resident tags, it looks like at most about 1200 non-residents attended the expo. Compare that number with a base membership from the RMEF of 200,000 members and its not hard to see which organization would have brought more business to the state.
