21 bear

Anyone seeing any bear up in 21? Heard there was kind of a winter kill up there this last winter, jw if it's worth going out this closing weekend.

Everyone I know in that area said no sightings and little sigh. Odd but it’s been the same way in 61 this summer we’ve only seen 6 up there?
Crazy because there are so many choke cherries, service berries and acorns everywhere!
Maybe that’s why?

Not too sure. It's weird because I noticed the same thing in 40 and 61 while up there. Not much bear sign but so much feed

Hunted The east end of the grand mesa targeting bears. Tons of berries and acorns. The bears were not concentrated. Saw 2 in 5 days of hunting

I heard that the Bears in 61 had a big winter kill. Biologist told a friend of mine they suffocated in the dens because of the snow depth. Doesn't sound right to me but I am no expert.

So I seen a bunch of bears over the summer in 21, seen 3 in one morning just driving around in early July, but all through the archery hunt didn't see a single one.
