257 Weatherby Mag

I think I am going to get a 257 WM, I have heard alot of good on here about it. What grain of bullet would most of you recommend, I will be using it for mid range sized game, deer, antelope, etc... And have you had much trouble with wind, I am considering the smaller bullets (87-100 grain) but dont want to be in trouble with a little wind. What do you think?

i have one and shoot the 115 berger vld's. You can buy those from HSM. Dumped an antelope at 400 yds with the VLDs and had great performance. I would also recommend that you look at the 110 grain accubonds. I prefer the heavier bullets in the 110-115 range

110 Accubond is hard to beat. Great cartridge, lots of fun to shoot.

I shoot 100gr Barnes TSXs at 3725fps. This thing is a laser. You WILL love this caliber. So far this year this gun has shot two antelope (150yd, 660yd), two muledeer (225yd, 250yd), two coyotes (200yd, 577yd) and lots of paper. It's cheap to reload and a schoolgirl could take the recoil. It's one of my favorite guns.

I love this caliber. I shoot the 115 VLD Bergers out of mine. Here is a couple critters taken with it.
