.270 150gr. partition report

For those interested in termial ballistics;

.270 Win, 150 grn. Nosler Partition w/MV of 2900 fps. 300 yards, small cow. Complete pass through with exit hole about the size of a quarter. Very significant internal damage. In fact, more so than the elk I shot with 180 grn. partitions out of the .300 several years ago. My opinion of partitions has not changed, IMHO, they are hard to beat in standard velocities. For magnum velocities the top shears off too easily. Just my opinion.

When I got home I ordered more 150 grn partitions.

I have had similar experiences with them in the big mags.

That's always been the case with partitions , but what you have to ask yourself is how many animals hit fairly with partitions are lost.

It would be great if they could have a higher BC but as far as game performance I'd put the partition at the top of list. I keep coming back to them because they just work, they always work.
