.325 wsm

I,m going moose hunting in alaska next year. good reason to buy a new rifle is what I told my wife. I just purchased a .325 wsm in browning a-bolt. All I have shot are foctory loads was just wondering if anybody has done any experimenting with hand loads for this new caliber whould a appreciate any input.

I am taking one hunting for Elk in Colorado in 4 days. The handloads I have worked up are using Winchester Brass, CCI 250 Mag primers, 4350 Hogden (sp) powder, 200 gr Barnes TSX and a COL of 2.848.

I'm getting 3 shot average groups of .75 at 100 yards and 2940 fps. I'm using 68.6 grains of powder. This is more than listed maximums for most loads (no data for TSX rounds).

I started at 64 grains and worked my way up. I have not experienced any case problems, primer problems or tight bolt lift with this load. All guns are different and this load as stated above is above published maximums and should approached with caution (CYA statement).

I hope I get a chance to use it in the next few days.

Have a great hunt everybody.
