Going blind with a friend that had a ranch to hunt that now turned into NOT unless we find some tresspass cash, so were headed to the BLM and forest. I've done some digging with fellow members on the where to start and have found mixed opinions about hunting high as we can or concentrate on the hay/clover areas near BLM. Also, real expectations on the size of bucks to be found in the area? Anyone have any early season advice that could change our minds on where to start?? Thanks in advance-Good luck to all. Riggo

That's gonna be a tough hunt. Its decent in 3rd season but the deer are pretty spread out muzzy season. Hit the oak brush/aspen pockets and you could probably turn up a decent buck. Good luck!
