48-1 RUT HUNT

I've got the bull tag, the maps, and some knowledge from an archery hunt a few years back. Looking for some back up plans and some area to scout this summer. I have eight days to scout. Any advice would be appreciated. The hunt is with a rifle starting September 25th and going for two weeks.

i was always deer hunting, but the area i was in seemed like it would be great elk hunting. steep, steep and steep. i always hunted up warm springs creek, dollarhide and buttercup.

Thanks for the info. What time of year were you deer hunting? Did you see any elk? Do you hike in and out daily or stay in overnight?
