Leaving in the morning for the 4th season elk GMU 67. Can anyone report on the weather, snow level, trends, or elk movement? The weather looks like there will be a small cold front just before the 4th season opens, while we are driving. After that it looks clear with chilly mornings.

Anyone see anything different in forecast? A good forecast would be a carcass tag tied real tight on a hind quarter!

Looks like a small coldfront and more of the same.

I think if I had a bunch of points invested in a high profile 4th season deer unit I'd be turning my tag back in.

On the bright side, just think how many bucks this hot weather has saved.

Just got back from my 4th season hunt and it was a total dissapointment. Saw about 100 elk but half of them were on private/national monument or I just couldn't get close enough. I could of shot some nice 300+ bulls though but all I had was a cow tag. Weather was horrible no snow nearly 60 degrees everday.

Were did you hunt bacouse i just got back from a 4th season bull tag in unit 86 and had no luck becaouse all the elk were up high.

Just returned from the hunt. The weather was warm, but we found elk way up high, like nosebleed high. We backpacked into them, my pard took his cow opening morning and two days later I took a 5x5 bull. Our backs and legs were (are) sore... but that is elk hunting. The hunt could not have been scripted the way it turned out. Three days resulted in two elk and full freezers.

>( deer) next year

Good luck with that. There are only 10 4th season tags in 33, and only one of those is a landowner tag.
