We saw 3 to 5 bulls a day. Hunter passed a broadside on several, including one 47 or 48 inches. Yesterday (last day of season, and 6th day of hunting) he whacked a 56 incher called in to 30 yards. Round ball quartered into front right shoulder, severed arteries above heart. Bull moved a few yards and lay down out of sight. Upon reloading, and dealing with broken ramrod, we approached area, bull got up, moved off about 20 yards, hunter caught up and quartered another round into bull as he stood quartering away. Bull went another 15 yards and piled up for good. 2nd shot unnecessary but warranted. Very exciting action. Homemade, not a kit, rifle. 36"/1 in 72 twist barrel. 130 grains Goex ffg. Bull field dressed 910 lbs. See ya, Guy
