6 by spike legal in spike unit utah??

I beleive the DNR would say to take him out of the gene pool. He meets all the requirements of a spike so I dont think there would be any problems. Just my .02 though

I would take him, but removing him from the 'gene pool' will have NO impact on the genetics of the herd. It is far more likely that his antler growth is due to an injury than due to genetics.

Yes! I took photos of a 6XFreak to the Utah DWR last year for clarification. No branching above the ear on one side. Shoot!

Yes. Manti Unit. I hunted him the entire Archery hunt but could not close the deal. My pal Mike killed him opening day of the Rifle season. Cool "Spike", should be home from the taxidermist within the next couple of weeks. I'll post up a picture then.
