I have this tag but haven't had chance to get up there, and have never hunted the unit. I'm planning to go up over the holiday weekend. Is it worth taking the muzzleloader to hunt Mud Lake WMA (short range weapons only), or are they pretty easy to find on the available BLM land? It looks like there's a big chunk of BLM west of Hamer - how is the access out there and are the critters typically there this time of year? Thanks for any info.

They are stacking up in private fields north of there.... Mud lake has a few that hit the fields where muzzy is required.... I would hit north end till unit boundaries spotty private/blm.

Thanks Tworivers. I hope to get up there on Friday and Saturday. Let me know if you have the tag too and I'll shoot you an intel report. I did talk to a guy at F&G and he said the same thing, i.e. critters are hanging to the north. He also said that a usual prime area along the INL boundary on the west side of the unit hasn't been very good so far.
