6A archery bull success!

Tough hunt with all the rain and full moon. Had to be mobile in order to find the pockets of rutting elk. Never seemed like a true rut hunt with everyday being different on how much the bulls bugled. Passed 6 bulls before making a 61yd double lung shot on this bull.

Ruthunter, very good 6A bull, you have got to be thrilled with him. I have seen a few over the last 2 weekends in 6A also. Got TopGun and his buddy John in there right now. Yes it was nasty with all the rain for sure. There have also been a ton of hunters pushing the elk all over as well. Not much bugling, they seem to shut up as fast as they get started. The pockets are hard to find. Had 2 really good set ups last Sunday busted because as we had the bulls come in we had hunters pretty much walk right through our set ups. Very frustrating and we were in the quiet area with a 2 mile hike in. Every day we kept going deeper to get away from the crowd and everyday someone had the same idea. I say if you had the same kind of pressure you did outstanding my friend! Big congrats to you, way to get it done!

Congrats Dave Nice Bull!! hope all's well with you and the bro! tough hunt this year! Wonder if it may have something to do with our season being prerut! Conditions for those early firearms, Muzzy boys, Juniors and late Oct bull tags will be over the top again this year! Kind of funny how archery used to be during the rut when it was in full swing but now it ain't. One might even say we don't have a rut hunt for archers any more. Some will disagree but then I wonder if they ever really hunted in the RUT to know the difference! Good old BOB "I DON"T HAVE ANYTHING AGAINST ARCHERS" HERNBRODE sure put it to us by moving us up a week! CONGRATS again, CA
