7 Mag what to do?

I recently pickup up a weatherby mark V 7MM Mag at a auction for a good price, and had the intention of having it re-chambered and barreled. The problem is I'm not sure what caliber I want to rechamber it for. I don't want to have to change anything in the action (i.e. bolt face, rails, etc.) I already have a 7MM Mag and don't really need another one, so any suggestions on caliber, barrel length, and contour would be great.

If it's a 7 Rem mag (you didn't specify)without having to worry about feed rails, follower, and bolt face, you could do a 338WM or 264WM or 30-338WM, as they are based on the same case.

If its a 7mm Weatherby, you could do the 257 Wby or 270 Wby. Might be able to do a 300 Win Mag without much fuss.

LAST EDITED ON May-31-07 AT 04:08PM (MST)[p] rabbit is right, any standard length mag round. 270 WBY would be my chioce. unless you're after a custom barrel you could probably find a Weatherby take off in 270 , or even 257 and save a few bucks.
