7mm rem mag

160 gr. Nosler Partition, max charge (for my rifle) IMR 4831, CCI 250 primers. Yields 3009 fps from my model 700. Shoots three shot groups of 1/2" CTC. Great on elk, think it would work real well on bear and moose just haven't had the chance to try it on them.

Here are a few loads that work for me.
160 gr. Nosler Partition
69gr. RL- 22
CCI 250 primer (mag. primer)
Remington Brass
3220 fps.

160 gr. Nosler Partition
69gr. AA 3100
CCI or FED. mag primers
Remington Brass
3150 fps.

175 gr. Nosler Partition or Hornady
66.5gr. RL-22
CCI or FED. primers
Remington Brass
3000 fps.

These loads will do 3/4 inch or less at 100 yards.
My gun has a 24 inch tube.
I load these same loads for other people, and they work fine in there guns.

Hope this helps.

I just got back from the range and I got a REAL HOT deer load, if you like "lung and neck" shots! 120gr. Nosler Bal. Tip w/ 64grs. of IMR4350 and a CCI Mag Primer. I put 12 shots in one jagged hole you could cover w/ a quarter. Shoot'in a SAKO w/ 3x9 Leupold. (I have a need for speed):7

My deer/elk load is 59.3 grains of IMR 4350 pushing a Hornady 162 grain BTSP. Is it the best powder/bullet combination for a 7 mm Rem Mag??? I won't argue that, but it has kept meat in the freezer and horns on the wall :)

I shoot a 700 remington with the 26 bulled barrel. I took the load from the nosler book using 140 silver tip 4350 65grains 215fed primer case size at 2.490 .010 off the rifle lands. This gun is the best shooting gun I have ever bought. 7 plus rounds inside of 1/2 groups one hole size 100 yards. I can shoot these groups all day. The normal balistic tips did not shoot great, loves the silvertips with the lubilox!

I shoot a Ruger Mark 77 and can get 3/8in groups with 120gr Sierra Pro-Hunters,68gr. H4831SC powder,andWin.WLRM primers.

I also get 5/8in. groups from both 160gr. Sierra Gameking Boat tails, and 160gr. Nosler Partitions using 64gr.H4831SC powder, and WLRM primers. The 160 Sierra has put two whitetails down in a hurry, and the Partition dropped a nice Mule deer in 50 yards. I'm interested in seeing what the 120gr. will do on whitetail. I've been told that load is awesome.

I have a question of my own. I have very limited elk experience, and I am wondering if it would be worth my time and effort to work up a heavier load than the 160 Nosler Partition. I'm satisfied with my efforts out to 250yds.{ the farthest I have room to shoot} I am not sure I could be accurate enough beyond 300yds to take a chance. The ballistics differences don't seem to be that great at that distance, but at the same time, I am comfortable with the load that I am using. I would appreciate your opinions. Thanks!

that 160 gr.partition would be great for elk.no need to work up a 175 gr.load.i have pretty much decided on a ruger m77mkII ss/syn. in 7mm rem mag.

Lefty,

I use my 7mm Reem mag on elk too. My load is a 160 gr. nosler partition at max load for my Rem 700. I get a honest 3009fps from a 24 " barrel. Have killed 5 elk with it from 100 yards to a little over 400 yds. Great load.
