I'm a little late getting this out but there is still time to make a call. This is another brick in our foundation about to be removed.
The following is a letter from the California Trapper's Association, and contact info/phone numbers for the Ca Assembly members below. Please make some calls!
California sportsmen are under attack from the mostly liberal non hunting, big city members of our state legislature. The Democratic supermajority is having a field day with our privileges incrementally taking away everything we love. Last year they got the houndsmen. This year they are going after our ammo and trapping. If we don't stand up we will be buried one shovel full at a time.
Please help the Trappers of California fight the overreaching legislation AB1213 which seeks to ban all bobcat trapping in the state as well as any commerce related to the bobcat. The bill is completely unfounded and purely an emotional argument from animal rights groups.
The California Fish and Wildlife department has clearly indicated that the bobcat population is well managed and healthy here in California. But when thousands of animal rights fanatics from the big cities who have never even seen a bobcat, call in to their representatives the truth becomes the first victim.
We have done our best at getting the truth in front of the members of this first committee to hear the bill and had some success getting it held back for a future vote which is coming up this Tuesday. We need as many folks to call at least the Democrats on the committee and express their opposition.
It only takes a minute and is real easy. Just state your name and that you are opposed to the bill as currently amended for the reason that it lacks any science based wildlife management and is a fabrication from Animal rights groups. Tell them that the mission statement of the CA Fish and Wildlife dictates that the wildlife of California exists for the USE and enjoyment of ALL residents.
Above all be polite and respectful.
Please find an attachment with the committee phone numbers. Additionally if you are a constituent in one of their districts let them know when you are on the phone with them.
Also please find a document from the Fish and Wildlife supporting our argument.
